Before you leave

Copy the latest C:\CafeSystem\dist\CafeServer.exe and C:\CafeSystem\dist\CafeSetup.exe to a USB stick (built 1 Nov, after the Log out fix) Know your own admin password for both the laptop and the test PC

1. Admin laptop

Give the laptop a fixed IP on the cafe network and write it down Create the folder C:\CafeServer and copy CafeServer.exe into it Open PowerShell as administrator and allow port 8000:

New-NetFirewallRule -DisplayName "Cafe Server" -Direction Inbound -Protocol TCP -LocalPort 8000 -Action Allow

Double-click CafeServer.exe. If SmartScreen appears: More info → Run anyway The window shows “PCs use: <IP>” matching the fixed IP. Leave the window open (minimise it) Open http://localhost:8000, log in with the default owner login shown in the CafeServer window, then choose a new password

2. Set up the admin page

Settings: enter your cafe name Staff: add at least one staff account with a PIN (4–8 digits), needed for the hidden exit on PCs Packages: add your hour packs (e.g. 1 hour = ₹80) Games: add each game with its exact .exe path on the test PC (and an icon if you like) Players: create a test player and give them 12 minutes (UPI). Check it appears in Top-ups with your name

3. Test PC

Install the games you added, in the same folders as the paths you entered Copy CafeSetup.exe over and run it (SmartScreen: More info → Run anyway) Enter the laptop's IP and the PC name PC-01, then click through Let it restart

4. Test checklist

PC boots straight to the cafe lock screen: no desktop, no taskbar Lock screen fills every monitor: cafe name, PC name, clock bottom-left, green ONLINE bottom-right PC-01 appears in the admin PCs grid with its name and IP Logging in with a zero-balance player is refused: “Please top up at the counter” Login works, game tiles show only your games, and the time bar counts down Time bar floats top-right with rounded corners and stays visible over a running game A game launches from its tile and plays normally Warnings appear at 10 and 2 minutes (12-minute top-up), in front of the game At zero, the game closes and the PC locks within 1 minute Log out (games screen and time bar): the “Log out now?” card appears in front; Keep playing closes it Log out mid-session: the remaining time is there at the next login Admin Lock and End session take effect within 5 seconds; Message pops up on the PC in front of a running game Steam, Riot, Epic: after player A logs out, player B sees empty login screens Force-close the client (if you can): it comes back within 2 seconds Pull the network cable for 3 minutes: the session ends and the balance is saved correctly Reboot the laptop: CafeServer starts by itself and PC-01 reconnects Ctrl+Shift+F12 + staff PIN gets you out to the Windows sign-in screen Escape attempts by regular players all fail (Alt+Tab, Win key, Ctrl+Alt+Del, game overlays, in-game browsers) Settings → Apps → uninstall Cafe PC Client returns the PC to a normal desktop (do this last, then reinstall)

If something goes wrong

Get to Windows on the test PC: Ctrl+Shift+F12 + staff PIN, or hold Shift while Windows starts. Then sign in with your admin account.
Undo everything: Settings → Apps → uninstall “Cafe PC Client”.
Logs to bring back:
- Setup: C:\ProgramData\CafeClient\setup-*.log
- PC client: C:\Users\Player\AppData\Local\CafeClient\client.log
- Server: a screenshot of the CafeServer window
Note which item failed and what you saw. After a fix, run build.bat again and reinstall.

Never run CafeSetup.exe on the development PC: it refuses to run there anyway.
